2-Ingredient Peanut Butter Fudge

2-Ingredient Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe
If you're looking for the quickest and easiest peanut butter fudge recipe ever, this one simply can't be beat.

Two ingredients go together in less than five minutes with the help of the microwave. Top with candy pieces if desired, let it set up for a couple of hours, then enjoy this rich peanut butter fudge that is reminiscent of the insides of a Reese's cup.

Here's how to make the magic happen, followed by ideas for recipe variations:

2-Ingredient Peanut Butter Fudge

1 jar (approximately 16 ounces) peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)

1 can prepared frosting
candy pieces (optional)

Open the containers of peanut butter and frosting, making sure to remove all of the foil liners. Put the peanut butter in the microwave and heat for 1 minute. Remove carefully and pour the melted peanut butter into a mixing bowl. Do the same with the frosting (1 minute, remove carefully) and pour it into the bowl with the peanut butter. Stir together thoroughly. Pour the mixture into a pan (a 10-inch glass pie pan makes the fudge just the right thickness). Top with candy pieces if desired. Let the fudge set up for a couple of hours at room temperature, or put it in the refrigerator to speed up the process. Cut into small squares, serve and enjoy.

For the batch in the picture I used Reese's pieces to add fall color since I made it the day before Halloween. M&M's work perfectly, too. Chocolate chips, pretzel pieces for a nice salty contrast, or just about any small piece of candy of your choosing will work, too. The fudge is very rich, so the garnish is totally optional.

My mom shared this recipe with us several years ago. My brother used to make it and drizzle melted milk chocolate on top to make it taste even more like a Reese's cup. If you really want more chocolate flavor, substitute chocolate frosting for the cream cheese variety. In fact, choose any canned frosting that you think would work well with peanut butter and you should be delighted with the rich fudge result.

Let me know what you think when you try it. You know you want to...

P.S. November 20th is National Peanut Butter Fudge Day, but don't let the date keep you from trying this fun recipe any day of the year!

  2. What an interesting treat, Susan...you could even change it up with some seasonally coloured M&Ms.

    1. Indeed, A to Z! It's great with chocolate frosting, too, so I'm thinking chocolate with red and green M&M's for Christmas. That could work! Thanks for the visit, the comment, and the great suggestion!
