Sweet tooth aching for chocolate? Need a quick and easy snack cake for the kids or for a tasty dessert? With just four ingredients and a short baking time, this easy chocolate snack cake recipe fills the bill for both!
Chocolate Snack Cake
1 box chocolate cake mix (chocolate fudge or your favorite chocolate variety)
1 small box instant chocolate pudding mix
1 1/2 cups milk
half a bag of chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour the pudding mix into a large bowl. Whisk in the milk; whisk well for a couple of minutes until it starts to thicken up then stir in the dry cake mix until well combined. Spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray. Spread the batter (it will be thick) into the pan. Pour the chocolate chips evenly over the top. Bake for 30 minutes. Let cool slightly and serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, or cool to room temperature and serve as a snack or dessert.
There's really no need to measure the chocolate chips, just use as few or as many as you like. The picture shows mini semi-sweet chocolate chips because I had some that I needed to use up, but this would be even richer and more elegant with dark chocolate chips (these Ghirardelli dark chocolate chips are my favorite and I'll use those next time). Your sweet tooth will be soothed and the kids will thank you for the snack. Enjoy!
